Army win National Karate Championship titles

LAHORE: Army were on Sunday crowned champions of the DHA 29th National Men’s Karate Championship 2022 and 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022 here at the Captain Fasih Babar Shaheed Sports Complex Block-A DHA Phase-6.
Army won six gold, two silvers and two bronze medals to take the pole position. WAPDA, as usual, ended as runners-up with three gold, four silver and one bronze. Sindh claimed third position with one gold and one bronze medal.
Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) including WAPDA, Army, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP, HEC and Islamabad participated in the championship. As many as 350 players participated in these championships.
Meanwhile Army lifted seven gold, one silver and one bronze to finish at the summit in the DHA 15th National Women Karate Championship 2022. WAPDA finished second with two golds, four silvers and two bronze. Balochistan, with two silvers and four bronze claimed third position.
Brigadier Waheed Gul Satti, administrator DHA, was chief guest at the closing ceremony.
