Naqvi unhappy; stops WC team announcement

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stopped the announcement of Pakistan’s squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in the US and West Indies.
According to sources Naqvi is not happy with the selection process. Sources said that he has not raised objection over the members in the national squad but he is of the opinion that meetings were not held properly for the purpose.
Naqvi, also a federal interior minister, is not happy with the stance of selection committee for not sharing the minutes of the meetings with him.
Sources said that at 6pm today selection committee will hold meeting and it is expected that the squad will be announced by 7pm.
Sources also revealed that selection committee is also not clear over the selection of Saim Ayub, Azam Khan and Usman Khan’s selection is also a big issue for it.
Sources said that there are chances that the selection committee may pick players from outside the current crop which is playing series against England.
Tomorrow is the last day of finalizing the team.
