LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has confirmed that the auction for two new HBL PSL franchises will be held on January 6, 2026, marking a major milestone in the league’s expansion plans.
This development reflects the PSL’s commitment to broadening its national footprint and creating new commercial, competitive and fan engagement opportunities. The addition of two teams is expected to strengthen regional representation and further elevate the league’s profile as one of the world’s top T20 competitions.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shortlisted Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit for potential franchise allocation.
“Only technically qualified bidders will be invited to participate in the auction and successful bidders will have the right to select their preferred city/team name from the approved list,” the PCB said.
Recognised globally for its growing commercial strength and passionate fan base, the HBL PSL continues to establish itself as a premier cricket league. The PCB and PSL Management look forward to welcoming new stakeholders and advancing the league’s contribution to cricket development across Pakistan.
The expansion marks an exciting new chapter for the HBL PSL, promising greater regional engagement and new opportunities for teams, players, and fans.
