Imam replaces Fakhar as Pakistan meet India

LAHORE: Left-handed experienced opener Imam-ul-Haq has replaced injured Fakhar Zaman for the remaining matches of the ICC Champions Trophy.
Imam, who hit a century on Thursday in domestic cricket, was recalled after the ICC event technical committee approved the replacement request.
Imam returned to the squad after playing in the ICC World Cup in 2023 in India.
“The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has approved Imam-ul-Haq as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman in the Pakistan squad,” ICC press statement said.
“The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the player can be officially added to the squad.”
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 consists of Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket), Sarah Edgar (ICC Senior Manager – Events), Usman Wahla (PCB Director – International Cricket Operations), Shaun Pollock (Independent Representative).
Fakhar got injured in the game against New Zealand while fielding. He sustained let injury. We went out twice and also batter at No4 position scoring 24 off 41 balls before being bowled by spinner Michael Bracewell.
