LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi’s skipper Babar Azam on Sunday became the first batsman of the HBL PSL to achieve the 3000 runs milestone in the country’s marquee event.
Babar achieved the honour when he reached 65 while batting against Quetta Gladiators here at the Gaddafi Stadium.
He played a rapid knock of 68 off 42 balls but failed to guide Zalmi to a win as they lost the game by 16 runs while chasing a stiff target of 207.
Babar leads the PSL batting chart with 3003 runs. He is followed by Fakhar Zaman (2381), Shoaib Malik (2082) and Mohammad Rizwan (2007).
