Shoriful targets his favourite Babar Azam in Test series

By our correspondent
LAHORE: Bangladesh’s left-armer Shoriful Islam on Friday praised Babar Azam as a good batsman and desired that it would be great if he would pick his wicket early in their first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi next week.
“I think Babar is a tough batsman for us and we will try to get him out early. It will be great if I get Babar out early. I played with him last year in LPL and he is a nice man also,” Shoriful told a news conference after Bangladesh’s final training session here at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Bangladesh will now fly to Islamabad on Saturday (tomorrow) to undergo some more training at the Pindi Cricket Stadium before taking on Pakistan in their first Test of the two-match series at the Pindi Cricket Stadium from August 21.
I did not see Rawalpindi wicket but I have heard there will be some grass for fast bowlers and we expect some grass. Every fast bowler likes some grass on the pitch and little bit seam and movement and that’s good thing for the fast bowlers,”
“Its really hard to prepare for red ball cricket after long time but I have some more days at my disposal and I need some more preparations to get top physical fitness and rhythm,”
“We are thankful to the PCB which facilitated us for practice and we are enjoying training although little bit hot but Islamabad is also hot,”
“Babar and Shan Masood are very good batsmen but we have good bowling attack and we need to fight. Its hard for us because Pakistan will have home advantage,”
“As we are not playing more cricket on Pakistan’s soil so we will need more adjustment
