Shajar, Yasir win golds, Moeed snares bronze in Imam Reza Cup

KARACHI: Pakistan’s young athletes Shajar Abbas and Mohammad Yasir won golds in their respective events in the 2nd International Athletics Imam Reza Cup in Mashhad, Iran on Monday.
On the second and final day of the event Shajar, an athlete from Punjab, clocked a record 20.91 seconds to claim the 200 metre gold while javelin thrower Yasir recorded a 74.83 metre throw to clinch gold.
Meanwhile Karachi-born Abdul Moeed Baloch recorded 21.41 seconds timing to clinch the 200 metre bronze medal. Moeed on Sunday had also set a new national record by claiming silver in the 400 metre. Shehroz had won silver in high jump on Sunday.
