Rilee wants Gladiators to carry momentum
By our correspondent
LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators skipper Rilee Rossouw has said that that they would try to continue with their momentum when they will field against Quetta Gladiators in their HBL PSL 9 fourth game at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday (today).
“Lot of credit goes to the team as it chipped in and played well. To get three from three at Lahore was something which we aimed for and we are very happy that we got three from three. Tomorrow is a new game and we will start from zero and we will try to carry on and we believe in what we do and we believe in the positive process,” Rossouw told reporters in Multan on Saturday.
“We will try to assess the conditions quickly and then will play accordingly,” said Rilee, who has replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed as skipper for this season.
Quetta have so far won all their here games they have played.
Rossouw is not in favour of unsettling the team’s combination and is expected to avoid more changes in the side for the game against Multan.
“In the night we will discuss and see what is our best eleven against Multan tomorrow. I don’t want to change the team too much as the team has got a lot of confidence. It’s a long tournament and I am pretty sure the guys on the bench will get a chance sooner or latter. At the moment we have not yet decided what team we will be playing tomorrow,” Rilee said.
He hoped that pacer Mohammad Amir will keep leading the bowling pack.
“Mohammad Amir has been bowling exceptionally well. He is a world-class player and he has been performing in leagues around the world. He is leading our bowling attack and hopefully tomorrow he can go strong again and lead the bowling pack,” he said.
“I am not too sure how the wicket will play tomorrow. Multan wicket has been as good as has been in the last couple of years and so its all about assessing the conditions as soon as possible and putting up a very competitive total,” Rilee said.
“Unfortunately for Islamabad the technology let them down. Looking at the footage again I think the ball did hit me outside off and I think right decision was made on the day,” said Rilee when asked about Shadab’s criticism of the technology after his review taken against him was turned down in his favour the other day.
