PVF lauds it’s colts for fourth-place finish in Asian volleyball

LAHORE: Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) is extremely happy with the way it’s charges performed at the recently concluded inaugural Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship in Tashkent.
In a statement PVF said that Pakistan Under-16 volleyball team has demonstrated remarkable talent and sportsmanship throughout the 1st Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship, held from 22 – 29 July 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
“Despite facing tough competition the young athletes showcased their determination and skills on the court, earning honours and admiration,” the PVF said.
“In the thrilling Semi-Final match held on 28 July Pakistan team competed against Uzbekistan U-16 Volleyball Team. The encounter was nothing short of intense, with both teams competing for a spot in the final. Uzbekistan managed to secure a hard-fought victory with a scoreline of 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 25-23). The match showcased the incredible resilience and teamwork displayed by both sides,” it said.
“Following the Semi-Final, Pakistan U-16 Volleyball Team immediately turned their focus to the 3rd position match against Chinese Taipei on 29 July 2023. In a closely contested match, Chinese Taipei emerged victorious with a score of 3-1 (25-13, 18-25, 25-23, 25-22), securing the 3rd position in the championship,” it added.
“Despite narrowly missing out on a podium finish, Pakistan U-16 Volleyball Team’s performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of exceptional. Their journey in the 1st Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship has been an inspiration for young players across the country and a source of pride for the entire nation. This was their first international journey,” it added.
“The PVF commends the U-16 team for their dedication and commitment. Their talent and hard work have earned them recognition on the regional stage and they will continue to be the driving force behind the growth of volleyball in Pakistan,” it added.
