LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced the successful conclusion of the tender process for TV Broadcast and Live-Streaming Rights for the HBL Pakistan Super League (HBL PSL) for the 2026-29 cycle.
The tender process saw the biggest financial offer made for acquisition of media rights in the history of Pakistan cricket.
Prior to the opening of the financial bids, the PCB had announced the reserve price for the rights in line with its transparent and robust bidding process. Walee Technologies exceeded the collective reserve price with an unprecedented offer of Rs 26.11 billion.
The newly structured rights allow for exploitation of both television and live-streaming rights across the Pakistan region, ensuring extensive and enhanced coverage for hundreds of millions of cricket fans nationwide.
This valuation of rights reflects the exponential growth of HBL PSL over the past decade and underlines the commercial strength and brand value of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament.
The four-year agreement once executed will cover the 2026 to 2029 editions of the league, shattering all previous records and valuations, reaffirming HBL PSL’s position as one of the most sought-after T20 properties in the region.
“This will be the biggest broadcast deal in the history of not only the HBL PSL but also Pakistan cricket. The steep rise in valuation of HBL PSL’s Commercial Assets reflect the remarkable growth and credibility of HBL PSL as a world-class league. We are delighted that all past records and valuations have been surpassed in this four-year term from 2026 to 2029,” PSL CEO Salman Naseer told a news conference at the PCB headquarters on Saturday.
“The strategic alignment of both TV and live-streaming rights in the Pakistan region ensures that our fans can continue to enjoy the HBL PSL experience across multiple platforms with added enhancements and innovations that will be developed and launched periodically.”
Walee Technology CEO Muhammad Ahsan Tahir said: “We are proud to announce that Walee has tendered unprecedented offer for the Media Rights of the HBL PSL for TV and Streaming in Pakistan. This is not just a broadcast deal, it is the foundation of a new digital sports ecosystem that puts fans, creators, publishers and brands all in one place.
“Every fan will be able to watch, engage and be rewarded. Every brand will find its audience. Every stakeholder will have a seat at the table. Walee is here to make cricket work for everyone.
“We sincerely thank the Pakistan Super League for their confidence in Walee and in our vision for the future of Pakistan cricket,” he said.
