LAHORE: In a significant development, Pakistan’s leading cricket statistician has offered his services to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to further strengthen the brotherly relations between the two friendly nations.
Lahore-based veteran cricket statistician Ghalib Bajwa, who has over a three-decade experience as a sports writer and statistician, said that his innovative cricket stats will help a lot in further enhancing passion of the game among the younger generation across the cricket world especially Bangladesh.
“Not only this, the exclusive collection of cricket stats will give BCB an upper hand over arch rivals India and other cricket playing nations,” Bajwa told thecricketplus.com.
Bajwa, who has the honour of covering several international sports events, said both Pakistan and Bangladesh have been blessed with plenty of potential and it is right time for both countries to make joint efforts to counter India’s domination in multiple fields especially cricket stats.
He said that the fascinating cricket stats are the backbone of the game.
“I am eager to introduce a collection of unique statistics in Bangladesh’s domestic first-class, national one-day and T20 (men and women) cricket matches. These attractive stats will definitely create an urge among the young Bangladeshi cricketers to further polish and improve their playing techniques,” said Bajwa.
Bajwa claimed that the stats he is talking about are very exciting but have never been compiled.
“I’m sure that these stats will add great value to Bangladesh’s cricket records”.
About Pakistan’s recent support to Bangladesh Cricket Board in their estranged relations with India, Bajwa said definitely, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, has played a role of elder brother and offered full support to Bangladesh in the present scenario created by strange and unsporting attitude of India in response to Bangladesh’s reservations about security threats during T20 WC matches in India.
