Pakistan whip New Zealand in hockey event

LAHORE: Pakistan defeated New Zealand by three goals to two in their second match of the 11th Sultan Johor Hockey Cup played in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
All three goals by Pakistan were scored through penalty corners. The first goal was scored by Arbaz Ali in the 7th minute through a penalty corner, the second by Basharat Ali in the 30th minute through a penalty corner, while the third goal was scored by Muhammad Sufian Khan through a penalty corner in the 48th minute. The only goal from New Zealand. Nelson scored in the 58th minute. Patrick scored a goal for New Zealand in the last minute of the game.

Pakistan Hockey Federation President Brigadier Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali congratulated the national team and the nation on the success of the national team.

Along with the national team, the officials include Team Manager Lt Col R Asif Naz Khokhar, Consultant Roelment Oltmans, Coach Olympian Shakeel Abbasi, Asif Ahmed Khan International, Muhammad Ali International, Video Analyst Nadeem Khan Lodhi.

The Pakistan Junior Hockey Team will play the third and final pool match against the host team Malaysia on October 31 at 5:34 PM.

The teams involved in the event have been divided into two pools, Pool A includes Australia, Germany, Great Britain and South Africa, while Pool B includes India, Malaysia, New Zealand and Pakistan.
