Pakistan Under-16 football team leave for Bhutan after getting NOC

By our correspondent
LAHORE: Pakistan Under-16 football team left for Bhutan in the wee hours of Thursday to feature in the SAFF Championship which will begin tomorrow.
Pakistan’s departure was possible only after Ministry of Interior issued on emergency basis NOC to the squad which on Tuesday could not leave because of that matter.
Some players also wept when PFF Normalisation Committee chairman Haroon Malik informed them on Tuesday that they were not going to Bhutan as government did not issue NOC.
This correspondent has learnt that NC’s sponsors Candyland has played a lead role in the whole exercise in issuing NOC to the brigade.
Meanwhile due to Pakistan’s late arrival schedule LOC has also rescheduled Pakistan’s matches. Now the Green-shirts will face Bhutan in their opener on September 2, followed by their match against Maldives on September 4.
