Pakistan to seek win against Sri Lanka in a do-or-die clash

By our correspondent
LAHORE: Pakistan will be looking to notch a much-needed win when they meet Sri Lanka in their do-or-die game of the Asia Cup Super Fours today.
The win will catapult Pakistan to the Sunday’s final. If Pakistan lose or the game is washed out due to rain then Sri Lanka will seal final spot because of superior run-rate.
Due to injuries to the pace-duo Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf Pakistan may face a big issue in their pace-attack which will solely be banking on its ace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Junior, left-arm spinner Nawaz Ahmed and Mohammad Haris (stumper) may face trouble due to lack of match practice.
Nawaz has not been in the best of his forms and so rusty are the others with Zaman to make his debut in the ODI and was sent in emergency along with Shah Nawaz Dahani after Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf developed niggles in the match against India which the latter won by a record margin of 228 the other day.
It is highly expected that the game may be affected by rain which has been ruining the continental event for the last few days.
The Pakistani fans will be praying that rain does not affect the game so that the Green-shirts could win it and seal a place in the Sunday final which is very important for gaining a huge boost before going into the World Cup to be held in India next month.
