Pakistan Test squad departs for West Indies for two-match WTC series

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Test squad departed from Islamabad International Airport on Monday for the West Indies ahead of a two-match ICC World Test Championship (WTC) series, with the team set to travel via Doha and London before arriving in Trinidad and Tobago.
The tour marks Pakistan’s return to the Caribbean for a Test assignment as the visitors prepare for two crucial WTC fixtures against the West Indies.
Before departure, Pakistan completed a comprehensive preparation camp at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where the squad underwent three days of intensive training. The camp concluded with a two-day scenario-based practice match designed to simulate match conditions and help players fine-tune their skills ahead of the overseas assignment.
Pakistan will continue their preparations in the Caribbean with a four-day first-class practice match scheduled from July 18 to July 21.
The two-Test series, which forms part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle, will be played from July 25 to Aug. 10. The opening Test will be held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, while the second Test will take place at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago.
The series offers both teams an opportunity to build momentum in the early stages of the new World Test Championship campaign.
