Pakistan squad to leave for Brisbane tomorrow

CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan cricket team will leave for Brisbane on Saturday (tomorrow) to feature in the ICC T20 World Cup which is about to begin in Australia in the next few days.
After playing a couple of warm-up matches against Afghanistan and England the national brigade will move to Melbourne where they will face arch-rivals India in their World Cup opener on October 23.
Meanwhile skipper Babar Azam will leave for Melbourne today from Christchurch to attend the World Cup trophy unveiling ceremony which will be held on Saturday (tomorrow). Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi and left-handed top-order batsman Fakhar Zaman also will join the squad in Brisbane on Saturday (tomorrow).
They underwent rehab in England and now look fit for the World Cup. Mentor Matthew Hayden will also join national squad tomorrow. Dr Javed will also join the squad along with Shaheen and Fakhar as second physiotherapist. Team doctor Najeeb Soomro will leave for his home in Melbourne. He will join Pakistan team in Melbourne before the showdown between Pakistan and India. In his absence local doctor Shumail will be accompanying the team.
