ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has officially ignited its ambitious roadmap for 2026, launching a high-intensity combined training camp for the U-17 and U-18 national teams.
Starting tomorrow (Saturday) at the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, the camp marks the beginning of a transformative year aimed at elevating Pakistan’s standing in the international circuit. The PVF’s strategic focus on youth development is at the heart of this initiative. The junior squads are being meticulously prepared for two landmark international challenges. The AVC Boys’ Under-18 Volleyball Championship is set to take place in Manama, Bahrain, from July 12 to 18 2026, and FIVB Boys’ Under-17 World Championship, a premier global event being hosted in Doha, Qatar, from August 19-29, 2026.
These championships represent more than just games; they are a vital platform for Pakistan’s emerging talent to gain world-class exposure and test their mettle against the finest young athletes on the planet.
While the youth focus intensifies in Islamabad, the senior national team also has two major assignments for this year. This includes: CAVA Championship to be hosted by Pakistan at Lahore from July3-10, 2026, and the Asian Games to be conducted by Japan in Aichi-Nagoya, from September 19 to October 4, 2026, where Pakistan aims to challenge the continent’s elite.
Meanwhile in order to pick new talent the PVF has announced the 55th National Volleyball Championship scheduled for May 19-25, 2026. This domestic tournament will serve as the primary scouting ground, allowing selectors to evaluate current form and integrate top performers into the national setups.
The training camp in Islamabad is a testament to the PVF’s commitment to a long-term development philosophy. By bridging the gap between domestic competition and international standards through structured training and consistent exposure, the federation is laying the groundwork for sustained success. As the players take to the courts at the Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad, the goal is clear: to bring international accolades home and inspire a new generation of volleyball enthusiasts across Pakistan.
