Pakistan hockey team starts training for FIH Pro League

LAHORE: Pakistan hockey team will kick-start its preparation for the FIH Pro League Argentina leg at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad on Tuesday (today).
The PHF President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti formally approved the probables list for the coveted event. Pakistan will make its debut in the event which comprises the world’s top teams. Pakistan got an opportunity to enter into the Pro League after the FIH Nations Cup winners New Zealand withdrew due to financial reasons. This will be the first time that the nation will be showcasing its talent in the league.
In a formal notification issued by the PHF Secretary General Rana Mujahid all selected players and officials were directed to report to the camp commandant on November 24.
Pakistan will participate in the FIH Pro Hockey League scheduled to be held in Rosario, Argentina, from December 9 to 14, 2025. The training camp aims to fine-tune the squad’s skills, fitness and strategy ahead of the prestigious international event.
A total of 31 top national players and seven officials have been invited to the camp. The squad includes experienced stars as well as emerging talent from various departments and provinces.
The PHF aims for an intense, high-performance training environment as the national squad prepares to test its mettle against top international teams. With a blend of experience and young energy, the camp is expected to shape a competitive lineup for the Pro League challenge in Argentina.
Pakistan will open its campaign with their opener against Netherlands on December 10. It will be followed by their match against Argentina on December 12, Netherland on December 13 and Argentina on December 15.
