Pakistan demolish Bangladesh to take decisive lead in the series

LAHORE: Pakistan crushed Bangladesh 8–0 in Dhaka to secure the three-match hockey series 2–0, earning a dominant victory in the second match of the World Cup qualifying round. The match, played at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium, showed Pakistan’s complete control as they maintained possession, pressed aggressively, and capitalized on scoring chances throughout the game.
Muhammad Sufyan Khan and Rana Waheed Ashraf scored two goals each for Pakistan. Rana Waleed, Hannan Shahid, Afraz, and Imad Butt added one goal each, completing the eight-goal sweep. Bangladesh struggled to counter Pakistan’s pace and structure, and the visitors kept a clean sheet with strong defensive coordination.
The President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti, and Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan congratulated the national team on their impressive performance and series win. They praised the players for their teamwork, discipline, and growing confidence as the World Cup qualification campaign continues.
The final match of the Pakistan-Bangladesh series will be played on 16 November.
