Babar, Saim rested as Pakistan announced squad for Bangladesh ODI series
The squad also features six uncapped players who will make their debut

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named a 15-member ODI squad for the three-match series with Bangladesh scheduled to take place in Bangladesh from 11 to 15 March. All three ODIs will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead the ODI side, with six uncapped players included in the squad. The uncapped players are Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain.
Among them, Abdul Samad, Maaz Sadaqat, Saad Masood and Shamyl Hussain were part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that played against England Lions in Abu Dhabi recently.

Mohammad Ghazi Ghori: He is a promising young Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter, born on March 16, 2003, in Karachi. A right-handed batsman known for his consistency in longer formats, he has developed into a dependable performer behind the stumps and with the bat.
Ghori began his first-class career in October 2023 and has since built an impressive record. In 26 first-class matches, he has scored 1,692 runs at an average of 41.26, including three centuries and ten half-centuries, with a highest score of 138. His solid technique and temperament make him particularly effective in red-ball cricket. As a wicketkeeper, he has also contributed significantly with 64 catches and 10 stumpings in the format.
In List A cricket, Ghori has played 17 matches, scoring 206 runs with one half-century, while maintaining steady performances with the gloves. In T20 cricket, he has appeared in 19 matches, scoring 227 runs at a strike rate above 112, showing his ability to adapt to the shorter format. He has also represented Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League, gaining valuable exposure at the franchise level.
Having also represented Pakistan Under-19s, Ghazi Ghori is regarded as a developing talent in Pakistan cricket, with strong wicketkeeping skills and the potential to grow into a reliable middle-order batter across formats.
Saad Masood: Saad Masood is a young Pakistani allrounder born on December 11, 2004, in Rawalpindi. A right-handed batsman and legbreak googly bowler, he is regarded as an exciting limited-overs prospect due to his aggressive batting style and wicket-taking ability.
Masood has featured in domestic T20 and List A cricket, along with appearances in the Pakistan Super League representing franchises including Islamabad United. In T20 cricket, he has played 24 matches, scoring 321 runs at an impressive strike rate of 140.78, including a highest score of 63*. With the ball, he has taken 22 wickets in the format, with best figures of 3/18, underlining his value as a genuine allround option.
In List A cricket, he has contributed with both bat and ball in limited opportunities, while continuing to develop his all-round skills. Masood has also represented Pakistan Shaheens, gaining valuable experience against international A sides such as England Lions.
At just 21 years of age, Saad Masood is considered a promising emerging allrounder in Pakistan cricket, capable of impacting matches with explosive batting and handy leg-spin.
Maaz Sadaqat:
Maaz Sadaqat is a talented Pakistani batting allrounder born on May 15, 2005, in Peshawar. A left-handed batter who bowls slow left-arm orthodox, he is regarded as one of Pakistan’s promising young prospects due to his consistency across formats and his ability to contribute with both bat and ball.
In first-class cricket, Maaz has been impressive, scoring 1,451 runs in 25 matches at an average of 38.18, including two centuries and twelve half-centuries, with a highest score of 114. With the ball, he has taken 17 wickets, including a five-wicket haul (5/80), showing his capability as a genuine allround option in red-ball cricket.
In List A cricket, he has accumulated 972 runs at an average close to 39 and a strike rate above 100, with three centuries to his name. His T20 record is equally strong, scoring 947 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 142.19, along with 17 wickets, highlighting his impact in the shorter format.
Maaz has represented teams such as Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League and Pakistan A, gaining valuable exposure at higher competitive levels. With his aggressive batting, useful spin bowling, and maturity at a young age, Maaz Sadaqat is widely viewed as a future all-format contender for Pakistan cricket.
Shamyl Hussain:
Shamyl Hussain is a promising Pakistani opening batter born on October 10, 2004, in Islamabad. A stylish left-handed top-order batter, he is known for his strong temperament and ability to play long innings at the top of the order.
In first-class cricket, Shamyl has been highly impressive, scoring 2,019 runs in 26 matches at an outstanding average of 45.88. His record includes six centuries and nine half-centuries, with a career-best score of 229, underlining his ability to convert starts into big scores.
In List A cricket, he has maintained excellent consistency, scoring 556 runs at an average of 46.33, including two centuries and three fifties. In T20 cricket, he has shown positive intent with a strike rate above 125, adding useful contributions at the top.
Shamyl has represented teams such as Islamabad United and Pakistan Shaheens, along with Pakistan Under-19s, gaining valuable experience at competitive levels. At just 21 years of age, he is regarded as one of Pakistan’s bright opening prospects for the future.
