LAHORE: Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat has been ruled out of international cricket for around four months after suffering a serious shoulder injury during the second One-Day International against Bangladesh in Mirpur on Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.
Talat sustained a dislocation of his left shoulder joint while fielding during the match, prompting immediate medical attention on the field before he was transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
“Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat sustained a left shoulder joint dislocation while fielding during the second ODI against Bangladesh. He received immediate medical attention on the field and was later transferred to a hospital for specialised treatment, where he underwent a successful closed reduction procedure,” the PCB said in a statement.
The board added that the 29-year-old remained stable following the procedure and has since been discharged from hospital.
“After an initial period of rest, Talat will report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to begin his phased rehabilitation, with an estimated return to play of 12–14 weeks,” the statement said.
The injury is a significant setback for Talat, who had been looking to cement his place in Pakistan’s limited-overs setup. The expected recovery timeline means he will also miss the upcoming Pakistan Super League Season 11, which is scheduled to begin later this month.
Talat had been picked by defending champions Lahore Qalandars for the tournament.
