Cricket Australia reconnaissance team arrive in Lahore

The delegation will inspect Gaddafi Stadium and relevant training venues ahead of the Aussies tour of Pakistan

LAHORE: A Cricket Australia reconnaissance team has arrived in Lahore to review arrangements ahead of the Australian squad’s tour of Pakistan next month.
According to sources, the visiting security and operations officials will carry out a routine inspection of the venues which include the Gaddafi Stadium, National Cricket Academy (NCA), and the LCCA Ground. During their visit, the reconnaissance team will also receive briefings from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials and local security authorities regarding logistical, operational and safety plans for the series.
Australia’s T20 team is scheduled to tour Pakistan at the end of next month. The tour consists of a three-match T20 International series between Pakistan and Australia.
Sources further revealed that all three matches of the T20 series are likely to be held in Lahore, pending the final nod from the visiting delegation after their assessment.
The arrival of the reconnaissance team marks an important step in the preparations for Australia’s upcoming tour as such visits play a key role in confirming logistics, security protocols, team movements, and training arrangements. Their report will help Cricket Australia finalise the touring schedule and give the green signal for the team’s arrival.
