Allen’s masterclass helps New Zealand take 3-0 unassailable lead

LAHORE: Finn Allen put the Pakistani bowlers to sword as he smashed 137 off 62 balls with a record 16 sixes to enable New Zealand conquer Pakistan by 45 runs and take a 3-0 unassailable lead in the five-match T20I series in Dunedin on Wednesday.
Allen equalled the record of more sixes in a T20 game in the world cricket. Before him Afghanistan opener Hazratullah Zazai had hit 16 sixes in an innings against Ireland in his superb 162-run knock on February 23, 2019.
Allen’s heroics enabled New Zealand to post a huge total of 224-7 in the allotted 20 overs after being invited to bat.
Haris Rauf was the most expensive bowler from Pakistan’s side as he conceded 60 in four overs while taking two wickets.
Mohammad Wasim Junior, who was given the chance, did well as he took 1-35 in his quota of four overs and was the most economical bowler.
In reply Pakistan were restricted to 179-7 with Babar Azam top-scoring 58 which came off 37 balls, having hit eight fours and one six.
Tim Southee as usual did well by picking 2-29 in four overs.
Both nations will meet in their fourth game in Christchurch on Friday.
