Akhlaq aims to deliver in PSL

LAHORE: Karachi Kings wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Akhlaq, who belongs to Gujranwala, wants to deliver in the HBL PSL 9 and make a place in Pakistan’s team.
“Every player wants to represent Pakistan team and I also want to represent my country,” Akhlaq told reporters here.
“And in in the PSL I am very hopeful to deliver and will make a place in Pakistan team. This is a very important event for me and I will try my level best to deliver here,” Akhlaq said.
Akhlaq opens the innings with his skipper Shan Masood and in the last game against Pesahwar Zalmi on February 21 here at the Gaddafi Stadium he scored a brisk 13-ball 24, hitting two sixes and three fours to set early momentum for Kings and they capitalized on that as they raced to the 155-run target with 19 balls to spare after losing three wickets in the process.
“As an opener you need to play with aggression. Its also our team plan which says that the top order should play its natural game and in the previous game I also did that and it went well,” Akhlaq said.
The PSL is a solid platform for the youngsters to click and make a place in Pakistan team which is set to play a five-match T20I series against New Zealand at home in April and it would be followed by a four-match T20I series against England in May before going for the T20 World Cup which will be hosted by the United States and the West Indies in June.
