Phil Simmons arrives in Karachi

By our correspondent
KARACHI: Karachi Kings head coach and former West Indies all-rounder Phil Simmons has arrived in Karachi.
Simmons was recently hired by former champions as head coach in place of Johan Botha of South Africa who failed to get the best out of his charges last season as Kings could win just three games out of ten to finish overall fifth in the six-team event.
Simmons, having the experience of coaching the West Indies and a franchise in the CPL is expected to leave an impression.
Karachi are lucky this time as they will play dive of their matches on front of their home crowd in the league stage.
They will play two games each at Lahore and Pindi and one at Multan.
Kings have started their preparations at Karachi.
Simmons was West Indies coach when they faced first round exit in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022.
However he resigned from the post after his charges below-par performance.
