LAHORE: Belgium defeated Pakistan 5-1 in their third game of the Europe tour after the Green-shirts held Holland to a 1-1 draw in the two-match series.
Belgium scored one goal each in the first two quarters. In the second quarter Pakistan played aggressively but squandered a handful of chances. Rizwan scored for Pakistan in the third quarter with the help of a short corner. Later Belgium netted three consecutive goals to seal a 5-1 victory.
The world champions Belgium fielded their best lot while Pakistan tested seven new players. The national hockey team will have a practice session in Belgium today and will leave for Spain on May 1 to play a two-match series against the Spanish team. The national team will return home on May 5.
