LAHORE: Left-handed batsman Maaz Sadaqat has been ruled out of action for at least two weeks after undergoing Laparoscopic Appendectomy in a local hospital in Lahore on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed. As a result, he was also ruled out of the ongoing final match of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2025-26 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
He trained with the Abbottabad squad on Saturday night, whom he joined as a replacement player for Fakhar Zaman, and complained of severe pain in his lower abdominal area on Sunday morning. He was taken to the hospital for scans where the doctors in consultation with PCB’s medical team advised for an immediate surgery for acute appendicitis.
His surgery took place successfully and he is vitally and hemodynamically stable with the PCB’s medical team taking care of him.
Maaz, who also opened for Pakistan against Australia in the recently concluded ODI series, was named among the 27 players for a white-ball camp in National Cricket Academy starting from Monday, 15 June. He will now join the camp upon recovery and due clearance from PCB’s Medical Panel.
