Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Dr. Siddiq Patni developed a passion for sports at an early age. Cricket quickly became the center of his athletic ambitions, and he soon began to stand out as a gifted batsman. One of his most memorable achievements came when he scored an extraordinary 316 not out in a school cricket match. This innings established a school world record that remains intact and demonstrated his exceptional batting talent at a very young age.

He was selected to represent Pakistan at the Under-19 level and soon became captain of the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team during the 1980–1981 tour against Australia. These teams included United Bank Limited, Pakistan Automobiles Corporation (PACO), Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), and the National Bank of Pakistan. Through these teams he participated in numerous domestic competitions and contributed to the growth of departmental cricket in the country.
During his cricketing career, Dr. Patni also had the opportunity to travel internationally, gaining valuable experience by participating in tours and sporting events across several countries. These tours included visits to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, England, and Holland. These experiences not only strengthened his sporting career but also broadened his understanding of international sports culture and management.
After completing a long and successful cricket career, Dr. Siddiq Patni shifted his focus toward sports administration and development. His deep knowledge of athletics and his passion for nurturing young talent motivated him to work closely with several national sports federations. Over the years, he has provided valuable services to a number of prestigious sports organizations in Pakistan, playing key roles in management, coordination, sponsorship, and athlete support.
One of his most significant contributions was with the Pakistan Boxing Federation, where he served from 1997 to 2004. During this period, Dr. Patni worked as Chairman, Manager, Doctor, and Sponsor, demonstrating his ability to support athletes both administratively and medically. Under his involvement, boxing teams participated in various international tours to countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Romania, and Thailand. His support helped Pakistani boxers gain exposure and compete at higher levels.
Dr. Patni also played an important role in the Pakistan Netball Federation, where he served as Vice President. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he supported the national team as a manager, doctor, and sponsor during international tours, including competitions held in Sri Lanka. His son Mohsin Patni also was part of Pakistan netball squad whose sponsor, manager and doctor was Dr Siddiq Patni which is a world record. His involvement helped promote netball in Pakistan and provided opportunities for female athletes to compete internationally.
His contributions were not limited to boxing and netball. In 2007 he worked with the Pakistan Football Federation as a coordinator for the FIFA-supported “Aid 27” youth development program in Sindh. This program focused on developing young football players across various age groups including Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, and Under-20. Dr. Patni played a vital role in organizing tournaments and supporting youth football development, again serving in multiple capacities as manager, doctor, and sponsor.
In 2018 Dr. Patni became Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Kick Boxing Federation. Through this role he supported international tours and helped Pakistani athletes participate in events in countries such as Russia and Azerbaijan. His involvement contributed to the growth of combat sports and provided a platform for athletes to represent Pakistan internationally.
His international recognition continued to grow when he was appointed Vice President of the World Dai Fu Martial Arts Federation in 2019. This role placed him within a global sports network where he contributed to the promotion and development of martial arts worldwide. Dr. Siddiq Patni also served as Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Student Olympic Association, where he worked to encourage sports participation among students and young athletes. Additionally, he contributed to the development of Pakistan Foot Volley, supporting international tours and activities including participation in events held in Japan.
Alongside his remarkable career in sports, Dr. Patni has also pursued a strong academic and professional path in the medical field. His educational qualifications include studies in chiropractic medicine, homeopathic medicine, electro-homeopathy, and herbal medicine. As a medical practitioner, he has used his knowledge to support athletes’ health, manage sports injuries, and promote physical well-being. His dual expertise in sports and medicine has allowed him to play a unique role in ensuring that athletes receive proper medical guidance and care.
Throughout his career he has often combined his responsibilities as a manager and sports administrator with his role as a doctor. This has enabled him to provide direct medical assistance to athletes during tournaments, training camps, and international tours.
