LAHORE: International Hockey Federation (IHF) has awarded Pakistan the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifying round which it will host at the National Hockey Stadium here from January 13-21, 2024.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary General Haider Hussain has termed the development a great turn around and honour for Pakistan.
“It’s a great honour for the country,” Haider said.
“After 1990 World Cup Pakistan will be hosting the eight-nation event. The ground was full in that event and PHF desires to have packed stadium during the January event,” Haider said.
“It will be the first drop in efforts to revive the golden period of Pakistan hockey. We will make our best effort to hold this event in the most befitting way,” Haider said.
