PESHAWAR: Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) on Monday postponed the National Judo Championship which was scheduled to be held here from April 8-12.

“Due to ongoing wave of COVID-19, few affiliated major units have conveyed their inability to continue preparation and training camps due to closure of training venues because of a fresh wave of Covid-19.  Although at the competition venue, regular sports activities are being conducted in normal routine, but in Punjab all sports activities have been frozen on the government’s order,” the PJF said.

“The PJF is of the opinion that the safety of the athletes is the foremost priority which cannot be compromised at any cost. It is therefore decided that the subject championship scheduled to be held from April 8-12, 2021, at Peshawar is postponed. Fresh dates will be intimated as and when the situation improves,” PJF said.
