MULTAN: Former four-time champions WAPDA recorded their second win from two games when they defeated Pakistan Air Force (PAF) 2-1 in their match of the 13th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) here at the Qasim Bagh Stadium on Friday night.
WAPDA, who had beaten SSGC 1-0 in their first game, continued with his solid performance, pulling off another crucial win against tough PAF being coached by a pro-license coach Shehzad Anwar. Adnan Saeed put WAPDA ahead in the ninth minute. At half time WAPDA were leading 1-0.
In the second both team fast-paced game and again it were WAPDA who did the job to double their lead through a solid effort from Maaz-ur-Rehman who need that in the 79th minute. PAF pulled one back in the 87th minute when international striker Mansoor Khan hit it from the spot to reduce the deficit to 1-2. In the final moments WAPDA strengthened their defence and were able to maintain the lead, taking their points to six from two games at the summit.
Meanwhile in the other game here PCAA defeated Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) 1-0 with Sohail scoring the winner in the 26th minute.
