Lyallpur FC beat KU 1-0; SNGPL hold strong KRL to a 1-1 draw in PPFL

MULTAN: Lyallpur FC registered their second win to move to the second place on points table when they overpowered Karachi United 1-0 in their match of the 13th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at the Qasim Bagh Stadium in Multan on Friday night.

After a barren patch during which both sides dropped a handful of chances Mohammad Sufyan did the job for Faisalabad’s Lyallpur FC with a fine strike in the 83rd minute. The win took them to the second place with seven points, two points behind leaders WAPDA who have nine points from three victories on trot.

Meanwhile in the second match at the same venue SNGPL did well to hold holders and record five-time winners Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) to a 1-1 draw after a tight finish.

Alamgir put KRL ahead in the 16th minute. However Samad Khan brought parity for SNGPL with a strike in the 32nd minute. In the second half some tight game was witnessed with either side inflicting some forecful rallies from both wings but failed to break the deadlock.

Both outfits shared one point each. KRL moved to  points while SNGPL
