KARACHI: The third day’s play of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final between Northern and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was on Monday washed out due to rain without a single ball being bowled here at the National Stadium.
The fourth day’s play will begin at 2pm on Tuesday. In response to KP’s first innings total of 374, Northern had reached 184-3 at stumps on the second day on Sunday. Sarmad Bhatti was batting on 39 and with him at the end was Faizan Riaz on one.
Northern still trail 190 runs. Now it seems that the first two innings will decide the decider as only two days are at the disposal of the competing sides.
A break was seen on the second day and on the fourth day test off-spinner Sajid Khan was seen threatening. At one stage Northern were in strong position with 100 without loss but Sajid’s double strike and one from fast bowler Sameen Gul turned the things around and made the show evenly poised at stumps.
