Royals beat Warriors to set clash in second eliminator with Hawks in Kashmir Premier League

MUZAFFARABAD: Mirpur Royals beat Overseas Warriors by four wickets to set date with Rawalakot Hawks in the second eliminator in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) here on Sunday.

Royals chased the 161-run target in the 19th over after losing six wickets in the process. Sharjeel Khan (30), skipper Shoaib Malik (27*) and Mohammad Ikhlaq (26) did well to make their team home safely. Sohail Khan (2-23) was the pick of the bowlers.

Earlier, Overseas Warriors were at one stage reduced to 61-5. It was Agha Salman (59*) who did extremely well with the willow, smashing eight fours and three sixes during his 26-ball feat to give some respectability to the innings. Azam Khan (20) was the other notable scorer. Shahdab Majeed (4-45) did the most of the damage which also earned him the man of the match award. Salman Arshad (2-21) ably backed him.

Royals and Shahid Afridi Rawalakot Hawks will play the second eliminator today to decide the second team for the final. Muzaffarabad Tigers have already made it to the final.
