Quinton not likely to be sanctioned for ‘fake’ fielding during Fakhar’s run out

JOHANNESBURG: South Africa’s stumper Quinton de Kock is not likely to be punished over the run out of Fakhar Zaman during the hosts’s 17-run win in the second one-day international against Pakistan here on Sunday.

According to reports after analyzing the footage of the run out match officials have reached to a conclusion that Quinton was not in breach of the law on fielders deceiving batsmen.

Needing 30 to win off the last over Quinton seemingly gestured for South Africa’s Aiden Markram to throw to the bowler’s end where Haris Rauf was going. Fakhar looked behind him, away from the direction of the fielder as he was running towards the wicketkeeper and was surprised when Markram’s throw hit the stumps at that end.
