Quaid-e-Azam Trophy finalists forced to shift from 5-star to 3-star hotel

KARACHI: The finalists of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2021-2022 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern had to shift from a five-star hotel to a 3-star hotel due to huge negligence on the part of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The teams were shifted to a three-star hotel after the five-star hotel authorities informed the PCB that booking for their teams beyond December 22 had not been confirmed.

A PCB source told this correspondent that they had no idea that booking beyond December 22 had not been confirmed. “When the hotel authorities told us on Wednesday that booking had not been confirmed we entered into negotiation with them but they told us that as a big group had already confirmed their booking and unless they cancelled that no new booking could be confirmed,” the PCB source said.

“And after that the Board tried their best to manage accommodation in the other leading hotels but it was not possible and so had to manage accommodation in the three-star hotel,” the source said. The three-star hotel is located at the Shahra-e-Faisal. Both teams also carry some star cricketers in their sides.

The two teams will clash each other in the QT final from December 25 here at the National Stadium.
