LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have finalised protocols for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) seventh edition which will begin from January 27 with the Karachi leg during which 15 matches will be conducted.
According to sources, a three-day quarantine will be must for all people associated with the country’s marquee event. And the players and officials will be allowed only to feature in the PSL after they will clear the PCR test. The associated people, both local and foreigners, will enter into quarantine from January 20. In case of any positive case the infected individual will be put in isolation for ten days. The protocols will be strictly implemented. This was decided in a meeting between the PCB and franchises in Lahore on Tuesday.
No individual featuring in the PSL will be allowed to keep family with him. A minimum of 13 players will be required and a team which will have less than required 13 players available will not be able to play the game. In case of substantial covid positives the event will be postponed for seven days and will be rescheduled. And then the number of matches each day will be doubled as the event will have to be completed within exactly one month time due to Pakistan’s packed international commitments.
A reserve pool of 25 local players, left unpicked in the main and supplementary drafts, will be formed from which teams will be able to pick players in time of need. The reserve pool will also enter quarantine from January 20 and will remain in the bio-secure bubble during entire event.
