Mirpur Royals record maiden win in KPL

MUZAFFARABAD: Mirpur Royals defeated Overseas Warriors by five wickets in their match of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) here today , their first win.

Overseas Warriors posted 145-6 in the allotted 20 overs. Kamran Ghulam smashed a 35-ball 47, striking three fours and two sixes. Azam Khan made 40-ball 32, hitting one four and two sixes. Salman Irshad bowled really well, picking 3-25 in four overs.

In response Mirpur Royals raced to the target with 11 balls to spare. Mukhtar Ahmad made a 40-ball 45, striking seven fours. Shoaib Malik struck a 25-ball 36, hitting two fours and three sixes. Sharjeel Khan hammered a 19-ball 35, smacking five fours and one six.

Fast bowler Mohammad Musa was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 3-27 in four overs. Salman Irshad was adjudged as man of the match.

This was the first win from three games while Overseas Warriors tasted their second successive loss from two outings.
