Mani likely to retain as PCB chief

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani is more likely to continue as Board chairman for another three-year term, sources close to the Prime Minister have revealed.

According to sources the premier Imran Khan, who is the PCB patron, held separate meetings with Mani and former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja in Islamabad on Monday. Sources said it is highly likely that Mani, who has strong relations with the PM, will get another lease as the Board chairman. This has really ruled out a general impression that Ramiz is being made as the Board’s next chairman.

Today was the last day of Mani’s tenure as the PCB chairman. By the first week of next month the Board will have its new chairman. However, sources said that it is expected that Ramiz will also be given a high post in the Board, may be a deputy chairman, which is not inclusive in the Board’s constitution.
