KARACHI: Former international match referee and first class cricketer Ishtiaq Ahmad has shown resentment at being ignored by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) while naming the interim board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cricket Association.
“I am astonished and aggrieved that being a highly qualified person with strong cricketing background I am not a part of KP cricket association,” Ishtiaq told this correspondent.
“The Chairman and all the members of KP cricket association have got less knowledge about cricket than me. I know each and every thing about our domestic as well as international cricket,” he said.
“I request the Prime Minister Imran Khan to take appropriate action in this regard. I urge the PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani to review their decision. Some of the members in the present body have no knowledge about cricket,” he said.
“Injustice has been done to me by completely ignoring me. Why the PCB Director International and other bosses are silent in this regard? Everyone in the PCB and Pakistan knows about my abilities in the field of cricket. I have rendered meritorious services for the PCB and for the development and improvement of cricket in Pakistan,” Ishtiaq said.
The KP cricket association interim board will be headed by Anwar Zeb Jan as its chairman which also include Aamir Nawab, Abdul Jaleel Khan, Fayyaz Ali Shah, Haris Bilal Afridi, Ikhlaq Ahmed Khan, Kabir Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Javed Afridi, Rozamin Khan and Shahid Khan Shinwari as its members.
