Babar appointed as Karachi Kings skipper

KARACHI: Babar Azam has been appointed as skipper of former PSL champions Karachi Kings, it was announced by the franchise owner Salman Iqbal on Tuesday.
He will replace Imad Wasim as skipper for the PSL-7 which is expected to be begin late next January.
“Champion, you have led our country and you shall lead the biggest city in Pakistan. Welcome as the king of Karachi Kings. ARY causes you a leader,” Salman tweeted.
Reacting to the decision Babar said he would try to give hundred percent.
“Karachi team is like a family for me and I have been playing for this franchise for the last five years. And this time Kings owner Salman Iqbal trusted me and offered me an opportunity to lead the side. So I will try to give hundred percent,” he said. “I enjoy such a responsibility and I try to apply it in the best possible way. The way Imad Wasim led Kings every effort will be made to continue it. We won the title of the PSL-5 edition and this time too we are hopeful to play better game,” Babar added. “The special thing of Kings is that fans support us off the field and on the field and on social media. This gives us confidence and effort would be made to retain it,” Babar said who played a major role in Kings title victory in the PSL-5,” he said.
