ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has decided to support Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) in hiring of the Iranian coach Rehman Mohammadi ahead of the senior national team’s preparatory campaign for the Asian Championship slated to be held later this year in Japan.

The Board has pledged this during a meeting of its Director General Col (retd) Asif Zaman and PVF chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob in Islamabad on Tuesday. The PVF plans to hire the former Iran’s assistant coach Rehman Mohammadi until 2023 South Asian Games which Pakistan is supposed to host in Punjab. It has been learnt that the Iranian will get 5000 US dollars per month. If hired the Iranian will replace Korean coach Kim Kyoung Hoon. Before him Iranian Hamid Movahedi served Pakistan well during his two-year stint until the spring of 2019.
