KARACHI: After passing through a tough visa process Pakistan volleyball team captain and the country’s premier spiker Aimal Khan is set to fly out for Thailand on Friday to join Thai’s top club Nakhon Ratchasima in the Thailand Volleyball League.
“It was a tough visa process as there were several formalities which needed to be fulfilled. I did those and InshaAllah I will leave for Bangkok on February 19,’ Aimal told thecricketplus.com from his hometown in Swat.
Aimal last summer was declared as the best spiker and the second highest scorer of the 15th Thailand Volleyball League 2020.
As per statistics released by the Volleyball Association of Thailand in June last year Aimal, who represented Nakhon Ratchasima, The Mall VC, emerged as the best spiker with 55.1813 percent. Aimal had also been adjudged as the second leading scorer with 250 points of that league.
Due to border restrictions Aimal had to wait for long for Thailand trip. However he was lucky in the meanwhile to represent Al Gharaffa Club of Qatar in the Qatar Volleyball League recently where his personal performance remained excellent.
After landing in Thailand Aimal will undergo a quarantine before joining his club as per Covid protocols.
