KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have confirmed three more players from two different teams have tested positive for Covid-19 and they will now self-isolate for ten days.
The PCB said that the three players were not part of the sides that featured in Wednesday’s HBL Pakistan Super League 6 double-header, and had been tested in the afternoon after showing symptoms.
The Board further informed that the HBL PSL 6 organising committee will hold a virtual meeting with the team owners and managements later on Thursday, (today) following which a further update will be provided.
The new development has soared the number of tested positive cases to seven. Three foreign players and a local support staff personnel had already been tested positive. Two of the foreign players already tested positive are Australia’s leggie Fawad Ahmed of the Islamabad United and English cricketer Tom Banton of the Quetta Gladiators. The local support staff member is Karachi Kings fielding coach Kamran Khan.
Meanwhile a suggestion is already under deliberation to move matches of the Lahore leg to Karachi.
