LAHORE: A 34-member Pakistan cricket team today left for South Africa via chartered flight for a three-match one-day and four-match T20 series against South Africa which will begin with the first one-day at Pretoria from April 2.
The team comprises 21 players and 13 officials. After playing series in South Africa the brigade will move to Zimbabwe on April 17 to play a series of three T20 and two tests. The ten members of the test squad will join Pakistan team in Zimbabwe on April 12. The team will return on May 12.
Left-handed batsman Saud Shakeel is not part of the touring party as he was withdrawn on Thursday after developing an injury in a practice game at the Gaddafi Stadium. He has been replaced by hard-hitting batsman Asif Ali in the one-day squad. Asif was already in the T20 squad for the South Africa tour.
