India to issue visas to Pakistan team and media for T20 World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistani players and media would be issued visas for the ICC T20 World Championship which will be held in India in October.

According to India’s media the BCCI informed its apex council about the Indian government approval that Pakistani players and media would be issued visas. However it is yet to be decided whether the Pakistani fans would be able to cross the border to witness matches in the global event whose final will be held at the Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

According to media reports decision regarding fans visas would be made by the Union home ministry. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani had categorically stated that India would have to guarantee issuing visas to Pakistani players, media and fans. He had said if India was unable to do so then Pakistan would press ICC to hold the event in the UAE.
