LAHORE: Abu Dhabi is likely to host the remaining HBL PSL 2021 matches, according to sources.
Sources told this correspondent that the PSL organisers have received some positive signals from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and have asked the franchises to make preparations. The franchises have been provided with all details and instructions regarding Covid tests, quarantine, lectures and details of practice games in Abu Dhabi.
A source revealed that the teams would proceed to Abu Dhabi on May 22. So far in the first phase, which had been postponed in early March after a handful of foreign players and officials were tested positive, 14 matches were held.
Sources said that players and officials would not be able to take along with them their families as the PCB have already informed them about that restriction. The UAE a few days ago had banned entry of Pakistanis into Dubai due to Covid issues.
Sources said that it is expected that the PCB would receive a formal reply from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) in the next couple of days. If UAE refuses then the PCB will go for utilising the Karachi option for holding the remaining matches.
